Teenaa raa taatou!
I have been the Te Reo Maaori and kapa haka teacher at Marian School for the past seven years, working with all age groups throughout the year. I have worked in many mainstream schools and in a Kura Kaupapa Maaori for 10 years. I have studied Te Reo Maaori me oona tikanga through Te Waananga o Aotearoa and numerous kura reo (language retreats).

I love sharing the beauty of Te Ao Maaori (the Maaori world) through Te Reo Maaori (the Maaori language) and tikanga Maaori (guiding practises) and am thrilled when your tamariki pick up and embrace these concepts as part of being a Kiwi kid!
Normalising Te Reo Maaori in and around our school through integrated learning, and as a part of our day, through karakia and waiata are key goals. Kapa haka sessions are a highlight of the week with lots of loud singing, smiles, learning actions and picking up Maaori knowledge along the way!

I am passionate about working alongside our kaiako (teachers) to build cultural competency and confidence to help improve outcomes for all of our tamariki and enrich our worldview.
I am thrilled to be working alongside our tamariki and kaiako two days a week this year, and thus building whanaungatanga (sense of family connection) with you all, especially our Maaori whaanau, and what I can do to support and grow our way of being in Marian Catholic School. Come along to the whaanau hui and have your say in a safe and supportive environment!

Outside of mahi (work), I love to read, enjoy the arts, keep (relatively) fit, get back to nature, hang out with whaanau and friends, return to my marae and Marokopa as much as I can and run around being a wife and Mum to three awesome kids!

Maa te ngaakau aroha taatou e aarahi
Let a loving heart guide our decisions

Mauri ora!
