I’ve been privileged to be part of the Marian School family since 2010, teaching New Entrants-Year 4 as a relief teacher and for the past year as a part- time classroom teacher.
I hold a B.Ed. (Early Years). I chose this specific qualification as I love working with juniors. My qualification has equipped me with sound understanding of the dispositions encouraged and nurtured before children begin primary school.
I believe that teaching is primarily about relationships. Knowing children as individuals who embody a range of cultures, talents, interests and learning styles enables me to provide opportunities and experiences in which all children are meaningfully engaged. Promoting an inclusive learning environment which celebrates diversity and fostering mutually respectful relationships with my colleagues, students and parents/whanau, values everyone in the learning community.
I love seeing happy smiling faces come through the door every morning and of course, the daily hugs! I want my students to feel great about who they are, comfortable enough to take risks and ultimately develop into capable, independent life-long learners.
